This side event of the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16) in Riyadh will focus on landscape approaches. It will discuss how, through deliberative processes, they enable more informed decisions related to land use that account for different types of trade-offs, and options to synergize resources and expertise as well as ensuring equitable transactions between different actors. These integrated approaches account for the diversity of ecosystems in landscapes, their multifunctional uses and the priorities and agendas of multiple actors who influence their uses.

This event is open to the public. It will be held at the Green Zone at the COP16 venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. To attend the Green Zone please register through the UNCCD COP16 website. The conference location is available on Google Maps.
