In June 2025, several Chinese media outlets featured the launch ceremony of the Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Ningbo, China. UNU-IAS leads a global network of RCEs — comprising nearly 200 local hubs promoting ESD through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
UNU-IAS Programme Coordinator Miki Konishi welcomed the new partner, highlighting its contributions to sustainability practices and noting that 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the global RCE network.
